Westchester Baseball is committed to the development of its players and coaches and has partnered
with IL Baseball Academy to offer three clinics over the Winter for players in grades 1 through 8. The
cost of each session is $20 per player and clinics will be held at the Proviso West fieldhouse and run
from 12-2p on the dates listed below. Players are encouraged to register for all three sessions as the
skills covered during each session will build upon those of the previous sessions, but players can also
register for individual sessions.
IL Baseball Academy Clinic
- 1st session: Sunday January 28th at 12-2p
- 2nd session: Sunday February 11th at 12-2p
- 3rd session: Sunday February 18th at 12-2p

IL Baseball Academy is an organization out of Evanston which strives to improve community baseball
and has an established track record of working with local townships to teach kids at all levels. The
organization also has a large network of coaches and will work with our players in small groups (1 coach
for every 6 kids) allowing for more attention for individual players as needed. More information can be

Each session will be split between one hour of hitting and one hour of fielding with scrimmages to
reinforce the skills learned. Players will learn hitting fundamentals such as proper stance, grip, load,
stride, and techniques for targeting pitches at various points within their strike zones. Players will apply
these techniques during drills and small competitions. Players will learn defensive fundamentals such as
movement in response to the ball, forehand and backhand techniques, and practice situational exercises
such as double plays. Clinics will also cover pitching fundamentals. WBI’s goal in offering these clinics is
to help develop players for the Spring and future seasons, and we look forward to seeing you there.
